Leadership at United Church
The Rev. John MacIver Gage, Senior Minister Born and raised in Austin, Texas, with degrees from Yale University and Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, John has been at United Church since 2000, when he arrived as associate minister. In April of 2006, the congregation called him to be senior minister. John also serves as the national moderator of the United Church of Christ Coalition for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Concern, lectures in pastoral care at Yale Divinity School, and is a founding member of Welcoming Congregations of New Haven ... [ more ] United Church Officers In the past year United Church on the Green continued the growth begun in 2006. In the last two years combined, we have welcomed 60 new members, and the increase is evident in volume of our hymn-singing, the diameter of the Children’s Circle, and the crowd at Coffee Hour. But membership is only one of the ways in which we’ve grown, perhaps the least important. The church has also grown in diversity, in stewardship, and in lay participation and initiative ... [ more ] Board of Deacons Whew -- what a year! Your Board of Deacons worked tirelessly in 2007 to provide leadership which promoted and furthered the spiritual vision of this congregation. I thank each of them for their hard work and dedication.
