United Church is a community of faith seeking to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with God. We are open to all people at any stage on their spiritual journey and warmly welcome any who desire to walk in the way of Jesus the Christ. |
Outreach
Believing the Holy Spirit calls and empowers us as partners in transforming the world, we commit ourselves as a Just Peace church to the cause of reconciliation. Likewise, we are Open and Affirming of all people, specifically reaching out to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender persons. |
Sacred Music
Sacred Music is an integral part of worship at United Church and an important element of our outreach to the community. United Church has a twenty-five member Vocal Choir, a 4-octave Handbell Choir, two grand pianos, an Italian-style harpsichord and a superb Hillebrand/Moore Pipe Organ. |
Ministry
United Church is part of the larger United Church of Christ across the country. Believing that God is Still Speaking in the world, we join with our denomination in advocating a new vision of a “multi-racial, multi-cultural, and open and affirming church, accessible to all.” |
Worship
We worship Sundays at 10:30AM in the meeting house, and celebrate Communion the first Sunday of each month. Families of all kinds are welcome! After the Children’s Circle, Sunday School and Child Care are provided. United is intentional in calling Lay Leaders, reaffirming our commitment to diversity and inclusiveness. |
Nursery School
The United Community Nursery School was founded in 1962 as a community outreach of United Church on the Green. The church provides, the physical space for the nursery school in our parish house, scholarships for students in need, and ongoing support and guidance for the school's board. |
